Arthur’s mum Olivia Labinjo-Halcrow, who’s in jail for killing her boyfriend, described her six-year-old son as her ‘greatest pal’ and ‘the sunshine of my life’
The mum of Arthur Labinjo-Hughes described her son as “the light of my life” in a shifting assertion.
Olivia Labinjo-Halcrow, who’s serving an 11-year jail time period for killing her boyfriend in 2019, stated her son was “my best friend”.
The assertion was made public as step-mum Emma Tustin, 32, from Shirley, Solihull, was discovered responsible of Arthur’s homicide and baby cruelty offences by a jury after a harrowing trial at Coventry Crown Court.
His dad Thomas Hughes, 29, was discovered responsible of manslaughter.
In a press release from her jail cell, Olivia Labinjo-Halcrow described her son as a “beautiful little boy that I knew and loved deeply”.
She wrote: “The particulars of Arthur’s case are harrowing and incomparable.
“But I need individuals to know who Arthur was, from his big smile and character to his light and caring nature.
“All moms are biased and consider that their kids are the most effective, and I’m no completely different.
“From the second Arthur was born he crammed my life with pleasure. He was at all times smiling and had essentially the most inquisitive little thoughts.
“When I take into consideration Arthur’s life and what he liked there are three issues that I at all times take into consideration.
“Firstly, Arthur liked to learn or be learn to, and any or the entire Julia Donaldson books have been his favorite.
“He notably appreciated The Gruffalo and the Snail And The Whale.
“When he began college, his love of studying grew to become a love of studying, tips on how to write new phrases.
“Every week he could be excited in regards to the ten new phrases he was going to be given to study.
“Secondly Arthur liked his meals.
“He was 10lbs 6.5 ounces when he was born, and his love of milk quickly turned to his love of meals.
“He would attempt something and, like all kids, he at all times needed no matter I used to be having.
“I bear in mind when he began college, day-after-day on the way in which house he would inform me what he needed to eat at lunchtime after which he would ask me what we have been going to have for dinner.
“But what Arthur liked greater than something was being exterior.
“He loved to play football. He was kicking a football around as soon as he could walk.
“By the time he was four he could name most, if not all, of the England team, and he always had the latest Birmingham City kits.
“I could talk for hours about what Arthur loved and who Arthur was.
“Talking about Arthur’s loves would not be complete without mentioning superheroes.
“Marvel or DC, Arthur loved them all, from Batman to Black Panther, Aquaman to The Flash.

“He had every costume and action figure and would spend hours dressing up and pretending he had their superpowers.
“Arthur was the light of my life. He wasn’t just my only child, he was my best friend.
“Never did I imagine he would be taken from this world so early in his life.
“If Arthur could ask for one final thing it would be that he is remembered for his super power. That will always be what I remember him for.
“Arthur’s super power was his smile.”
